This collection depicts the extinct Huia bird, sacred in Māori culture. Unique to it’s species and part of their decline was down to their beaks - the long curved beak of the female & the male’s stout strong - they worked together to survive.
Based on the extinct Huia bird, these linocuts were created for the Ghosts of Gone Birds project to raise money and awareness for Birdlife International. A percentage of all sales goes to Birdlife International.
