Wide Open Walls / by Matthew J Watkins

Thanks to the Wide Open Walls project for inviting me to Gambia. Painting in the intense humidity and heat of the rainy season was a challenge, but the people of Kubuneh made it a very special experience. Every time I felt tired the locals' smiles, tea and ground nuts kept me going. Thanks to Abdo, Bob, Sid, Chris, Steve and the all the guys who looked after us while we worked. Thanks to Njogu, Eelus, Xenz, Al, Broken Crow, Logan and Lawrence for sharing the experience. We met some wonderful folk. And a big thanks to Matt for helping me throughout.
